Experience the thrill of sleeping under the stars in some of Colorado’s most beloved wilderness. From Rocky Mountain National Park to the Indian Peaks Wilderness, Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides is Colorado’s premier backpacking guide company, with a vast amount of experience throughout Rocky Mountain National Park, the Indian Peaks Wilderness, James Peak Wilderness and beyond. Our trips are custom and private, ensuring that every aspect, including the location and appropriate ability level, the opportunity to fly fish or add a peak ascent (or both), are all taken into account in the planning stage. We provide all the group gear including tent, food, safety equipment and permits, and the guest provides the sleeping bag, sleeping pad, and backpack; however, we do have rentals available.
Join us for a six-day excursion to the heart of the Indian Peaks Wilderness, one of Colorado’s most secretive and secluded range of mountains, but close to Boulder. Cross the Continental Divide from one side of Rocky Mountain National Park to the other, or explore Big Meadows and North Inlet with its expansive and magnificently panoramic views.
Our goal is to help you experience backpacking the true Colorado way, set in our spectacular mountains, surrounded by majestic wildlife such as moose, bear, coyote, elk, deer, and bighorn sheep. Whether this is your first time, or you are a seasoned backpacker, we will create a trip that meets your ambition and ability. Join us for such exciting excursions as a two-day Longs Peak ascent, or the Epic 6-Day Summit Series where we’ll summit one peak each day, culminating in a spectacular ascent in Rocky Mountain National Park.
