COVID-19 Policies

Protecting Guests & Staff

7/26/2023: Update - For the latest and most accurate information on COVID-19 policies in the United States, we recommend visiting the official CDC website at https://www.cdc.gov . We are continuing to update our COVID policies and practices based on recommendations from the CDC as well as state and local health departments.

1/3/2022: Update - We are continuing to update our COVID policies and practices each month based on recommendations from the CDC as well as state and local health departments. Currently, as a federal contractor, all our staff are required to be vaccinated to work on federal lands.

3/1/2021: We have implemented policies and practices in 2020, using local, state, and federal (CDC) guidelines and best practices, to help protect our guests and staff. Colorado Wilderness Rides And Guides (CWRAG) has been successfully providing trips and training on a regular basis since the beginning of June 2020. To date, we have not experienced any notable misadventures related to COVID-19. As the state of affairs with Covid-19 is constantly changing, we are continually monitoring the most current best practices for managing this additional risk. Please let us know any questions or concerns related to this.

For those attending a course or trip, we would like to remind you of the importance of your actions prior to arriving at the course. As much as possible, practice social distancing, mask-wearing, and proper hygiene during the 14 days preceding your start date, including your travel to the course. None of these, guarantee to provide absolute protection but ignoring any or all could notably increase your risk of contracting COVID-19.

Any participant who is experiencing or has in the 14 days prior to the first day of their trip or course experienced any COVID-19 symptoms as defined by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control), including but not exclusively: fever, shortness of breath, loss of smell or taste, or any flu symptoms should not attend a course. Those who have, in the 14 days prior to trip or course, had contact with a COVID-19 positive or suspected positive person or received instruction from a public health authority to self-observe, self-isolate, or self-quarantine should also not travel to the trip location.

CDC defined COVID-19 Higher Risk Individuals should consult with their primary care provider and make a thorough assessment of all current factors to determine if they should travel to and attend a WMAI medical course or postpone to a future course. These risk factors include age and comorbidities like high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, conditions that compromise the immune system, and obesity.

Our intention remains to provide meaningful experiences and help transform lives through positive and powerful custom adventures. The current COVID‐19 pandemic has made this more difficult, but not impossible. In order to minimize risk, it is important that there be a cooperative understanding among CWRAG and our guests. We hope this overview provides a foundation for that communal awareness.

We are always willing to work with our guests to maximize their well-being and safety. In terms of experiences, educational training, and trips, our staff and your health have always been our top priority.
