Adventure Sales Consultant

Job Description: The ideal candidate possesses both technical expertise and sales acumen, enabling them to efficiently promote and close adventure trips, and manages the recording and processing of trip details. Demonstrate excellent communication skills, engaging clients in meaningful discussions about their desired outdoor adventures and educational programming. In addition to sales, this position may include administrative and facility support. Moreover, our organization offers a range of sales opportunities, catering to both entry-level positions and roles dedicated to corporate accounts. 

This full-time seasonal role, based in our Boulder office, operates Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm with potential opportunities for year-round.  As a seasonal business, we welcome candidates seeking both year-round employment and those interested in summer season positions.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive and facilitate trip sales processes, adeptly handling client inquiries via phone, email, and form online sales software 
  • Communication and scheduling between internal staff and clients through booking software
  • Highlight strong community outreach skills by fostering effective communication with hotels and businesses, enhancing our company's promotion, and attracting new clients.
  • Adapting to the variety of different small business functions and tasks in order to help run a successful outdoor guiding and leadership organization
  • Clean driving record with valid driver’s license

Skills:

  • Efficiently leverage CRM tools
  • Demonstrate excellent written communication skills
  • Ensure organization, attention to detail, and prompt responsiveness
  • Quickly adapt to new operating systems and adeptly handle client inquiries and bookings

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with or understanding of content management systems (CRM); beneficial but not mandatory
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety and risk management procedures in outdoor environments
  • Background in event planning, hospitality management, outfitting, and the adventure travel industry
  • Familiarity working with word and adobe to create marketing pieces

Familiarity with Boulder, Rocky Mountain National Park, and the front range of Colorado. Is advantageous, along with having personal experience in front range and backcountry activities such as; hiking, backpacking, biking, climbing, mountaineering, backcountry skiing, rafting, and or fishing. 

Pay and Perks:

Rafting Operations Coordinator

Job Description: This position is a blend of organizational, communication, and strategic skills encompassing a diverse range of responsibilities. These responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, delivering excellent customer service, and leading whitewater rafting excursions along Clear Creek in Idaho Springs, Colorado (with possible overflow or season extension onto the Upper Colorado River). Clear Creek features multiple sections of navigable whitewater ranging in difficulty from Class III-IV, and the season typically runs from May to August.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee all facets of commercial rafting operations, including managing clients, guides, logistics, vehicles, and equipment
  • Act as the certified Colorado Rafting Trip Leader for daily rafting excursions
  • Serve as the primary contact for field staff, addressing inquiries and ensuring a smooth workflow
  • Oversee the maintenance of gear
  • Operate vehicles for the transportation of clients, staff, and equipment
  • Participate in the recruitment of new guides and logistics support personnel
  • Manage the organization and maintenance of supplies and equipment
  • Compile reports for land management and civil compliance
  • Communicate with diverse stakeholders and organizational partners
  • Deliver exceptional customer service

PROFESSIONAL RIVER GUIDES - CLEAR CREEK

Interested in becoming a raft guide but not certified? We offer an intensive two-week certification training program May 13th-24th with 18th and 19th off.  This part-time on-call position has the potential for full-time hours and expansion to additional rivers.

Job Description: 

We are seeking professional and personable certified guides to lead safe and fun rafting trips along Clear Creek in Idaho Springs, CO. Clear Creek boasts multiple sections of navigable whitewater ranging in difficulty from Class III-IV.  The season typically runs from May to August. Successful Clear Creek guides may also have the opportunity to guide on the Colorado River and in various guiding activities in northern Colorado, such as hiking, fly fishing, backpacking, mountain biking, climbing, and mountaineering.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a River Guide at Clear Creek during the summer rafting season
  • Drive guests and transport gear to ensure a seamless experience
  • Capture memorable moments by photographing trips
  • Check in guests and assist with arrival and departure tasks related to commercial rafting trips
  • Load and unload boats and rafting gear
  • Organize and clean gear, prepare for trips, and ensure the successful completion of activities
  • Handle general housekeeping tasks, including selling merchandise and addressing customer inquiries about the day
  • Maintain cleanliness and assist with the flow of customers

Skills:

  • Trip Leaders: demonstrate a proven track record of guiding up to class IV whitewater and being a responsible for a team of guides

Guide Instructor:

  • 1500+ miles and a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Class IV rivers
  • Wilderness First Responder (WFR) or Higher Medical Certification 
  • At least 5 years experience 
  • Minimum 50 hours of on-river training

Trip Leaders:

  • 750+ miles and a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Class IV rivers
  • Wilderness First Responder (WFR) or Higher Medical Certification 
  • At least 5 years experience
  • Minimum 50 hours of on-river training

Guides: Participant and get signed off on our river guides training program, previous river guide training / experience in Colorado or out of state

All Levels:

  • Minimum Age: 25 for Guide Instructors/Trip Leaders, 18 for Guides
  • First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Expertise in Leave No Trace Principles
  • Uphold a clear driving record with valid driver’s license
  • Possesses an innate ability to teach activities effectively, seamlessly integrating pedagogical skills with the activity itself
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of safety and risk management procedures in the outdoor environment

Preferred Qualifications:

While degrees in Outdoor Education, Recreation, Environmental Education, or a related field are valued, they are not mandatory. However, given the paramount importance of Risk Management, all guides must hold valid medical and professional training certifications.

For Trip Leaders, a college graduate is strongly preferred. A degree in Outdoor or Experiential Education, Environmental Science, Recreation, or a related field is particularly advantageous, reflecting our commitment to expertise and excellence in the outdoor adventure industry.

Job Description:
Our team of Guides possesses extensive experience and the ability to educate in single sport or multi-sport, outdoor education, and have or are interested in development training in Corporate Leadership and Team Building. It is imperative that our Guides have the ability to instruct and facilitate the above activities, catering to both the novice and experienced guests seeking educational enhancement and skill development.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate activities for individuals and large groups with adept instructional skills 
  • Provide effective teaching on various activities while incorporating thorough instruction on Risk Management and Leave No Trace Principles 
  • Prioritize client communication by establishing contact before trips to ensure a seamless experience 
  • Conduct basic pre/post-trip inspections of vehicles and assume responsibility for basic vehicle maintenance, including refueling and interior cleaning 
  • Demonstrate proficiency in driving pick-up trucks, vans, and 14-passenger vans 
  • Take charge of gear preparation and cleanup, ensuring a well-maintained and organized operation 
  • Additionally, may provide support for team-building events
  • Professionalism, personability, positivity, and a motivation to contribute to our company's overarching goals are essential attributes

Qualifications For:

  • AMGA (IFMGA) Certified Rock Guide/Instructor
  • AMGA Single Pitch Instructor (We offer training/certification for this position)

Mountaineering

  • AMGA Alpine Guide/Aspirant /Apprentice Guide 

Skiing

  • AMGA Ski Guide/Aspirant /Apprentice Guide 

AIARE Course Lead/Instructor

  • Certified Lead or Instructor status

Fly-Fishing

  • Wade: Attend our Fly-Fishing Guide Course or equivalent
