Intro to Ski Mountaineering

Experience Colorado’s iconic ski mountaineering with a guided tour through the Front Range, including James Peak, Indian Peaks, and Rocky Mountain National Park. Learn essential techniques, safety, and navigation while tackling thrilling routes. Prior backcountry skiing and avalanche training required.


RMNP Intro to Couloirs & Descents

Ready for a challenge? Join us in Rocky Mountain National Park to learn how to ski steep couloirs and thrilling descents. Our AIARE-trained guides will teach you jump turns, speed control, and techniques to tackle lines like Cristo Couloir. Previous backcountry skiing and avalanche education required.


RMNP Peaks & Descents

Explore Rocky Mountain National Park’s famed peaks and thrilling couloir drops on this ski mountaineering adventure. We'll select routes based on your ability, including technical climbs and descents across the Continental Divide. Prepare for long, challenging days. Previous backcountry skiing and avalanche education required.

Backcountry Ski: Full Day

Embark on a full-day backcountry skiing adventure designed for intermediate to advanced skiers. This custom-guided trip offers personalized instruction and the chance to explore pristine terrain beyond resort boundaries.

8-12 hours

Trip Details

After booking, your guide will customize the experience to your skill level. This 8-12 hour day includes learning key backcountry techniques such as equipment usage, kick turns, foot care, and efficient transitions. You’ll explore safe, accessible terrain, practicing new skills with the guidance of your expert instructor. All necessary gear is provided, and the trip focuses on safety, skill development, and enjoying Colorado’s untouched winter landscapes.


Included: Professional guide, avalanche safety equipment, safety and skill instruction, snacks, water, group CB, medical kit, emergency support, and natural history education.


Not Included: Backcountry ski set up(skis, boots, helmet, poles) Gratuities (20% recommended, auto-added for groups of 6+).


  • Snowshoes, AT ski touring skis or Tele skis, skins, and boots can be rented from Crystals Ski Shop for $50 per day. When on a guided trip, we supple avalanche rescue gear (beacon, shovel, and probe). On a side note: Crystals also rent beacon, probe, shovel for $30 per day. The whole package for all gear (ski and safety) is $65 per day for future reference. PH: 303-449-7669.
