Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides are proud to announce our 2017 Backpacking excursions across Colorado. Our expert guides are excited to show off our spectacular backcountry from the mountains of Rocky Mountain National Park and the Indian Peaks Wilderness, to thrilling trips across Colorado’s great ranges. Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides is a official concessionaire for Rocky Mountain National Park for technical rock climbing, skiing, mountaineering, backpacking, fly fishing, hiking, and wilderness education, which gives us the advantage of showing off some of the most spectacular remote landscapes in North America. Join us for thrilling traverses across the Continental Divide, exploring the remote and mysterious Mummy Range, or discovering the lush western reaches of the park, with abundant wildlife such as moose, elk, black bears, coyotes, and deer. All of our trips are private and custom, allowing every aspect of the trip, from the difficulty to the location, food preferences, and optional additional excursions such as fly-fishing to be customized to your liking. While our backpacking trips are year-round and custom to the desires of our guests, Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides has been given access to exclusive campsites across a series of summer dates. Explore Rocky Mountain National Park at it’s finest with Continental Divide Trips from 7/6 to 7/10, 8/2 to 8/6, and 8/17 to 8/21. Explore the Western Edge of Rocky Mountain National Park from 7/12 to 7/15 and 7/26 to 7/29, and discover the Mummy Range from 8/31 to 9/3. We can also create custom trips at any time of the year, meant to help you reach your goals or desires. Included in our rates are the services of a professional guide; Colorado national park permit and back-country Colorado camping permits, transportation between Boulder and the wilderness trail heads, all food during the backpacking trip, a re-supply drop, if necessary, gear for water purification and cooking, bear canister, tent, and medical kit, and CB radio and contingency and emergency support. Not included in our rates are meals while in the front country (breakfast on Day 1 and dinner on the last day), laundry, alcoholic beverages, hotel overnight before your trip and at trip’s conclusion, personal equipment (sleeping bag, pad, backpack – these items are available to rent), and gratuities for your guide(s) – while this is at your discretion, the recommended amount is 20%. We also offer optional trip cancellation insurance. We would be more than happy to tell you more about our 2017 backpacking, our custom trips, and our sterling record as Colorado’s premier outdoor guides.
