Intro to Ski Mountaineering in Colorado: Backcountry Ski Course
Join us for a two-day introductory course on ski mountaineering in the breathtaking terrain of Rocky Mountain National Park. Our experienced guides will cover everything you need to know to safely explore high alpine terrain, from equipment and clothing systems to tour planning, uphill pacing and track techniques. You’ll also learn essential skiing techniques on variable snow terrain, snow and alpine climbing, and anchoring techniques, as well as how to manage avalanche hazards. Whether you’re new to skiing or an experienced skier looking to try something new, this course is a great way to explore the art of Ski Mountaineering.

● Tour planning
● Uphill pacing and track techniques
● Skiing techniques in variable snow conditions

● Using ice axe and crampons

Prerequisites: Ski touring experience, rock climbing experience, AIARE1 or AIARE Avalanche Rescue Course recommended
Backcountry Development Series: 3-Day Intro Skiing Beyond Resorts
Join our three-day backcountry skiing program in Rocky Mountain National Park and explore new terrain beyond the resort. Our program covers essential skills such as backcountry ski equipment, clothing systems, kick turns, hotspot/blister prevention and foot care, ski tour planning, and quick and efficient transitions. You’ll learn how to read and gather information for planning a safe and enjoyable tour while immersing yourself in the natural history and ecology of this iconic national park. You’ll enjoy the beauty and solitude of the wilderness. Perfect for beginner and intermediate skiers looking to expand their horizons in a safe and guided environment.

● Getting into the skis in any situation
● Hotspot/blister prevention and foot care

Prerequisites: Skiing experience and avalanche training
What's Included In Our Rates?
The services of a professional fishing guide
Round-trip transportation between your Boulder or Estes Park hotel or our office and the fishing location for groups of 6 or less
Terminal tackle and equipment (Including flies, rod, reel, and booties/waders)
Bottled water and snacks (lunch is also included during full-day trips)
Education about the local and natural history (including a library of Rocky Mountain flora and fauna)
Group CB, medical kit, & emergency support.

Gratuities for your guide (while it is up to your discretion, the recommended gratuity is 15-20%) - *Gratuity is auto-added for groups of 6 or more.
Colorado fishing license or rod fee for private waters. We will secure private waters based on request
