AIARE I and AIARE II Boulder Avalanche Course

Sometimes we love the mountains but the mountains don’t love us.   As we approach backcountry season, and scores of snowboarders, skiers, and showshoers prepare to make their way out of the safety of the ski area and into the wilderness of the mountains, it is highly important to recognize the dangers and the trepidations of traveling into the backcountry. It’s essential to know how to read terrain, how to choose a wise route through newly fallen snow, how to choose your descent route and avoid hidden dangers, and how to rescue a partner during the terrifying possibility of a sudden avalanche.   Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides’ AIARE Level I and AIARE Level I Courses are designed to give you the best education to keep yourself safe. Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides is proud to present seven AIARE Level I courses, two AIARE Level II courses and five Companion Rescue courses.   The course dates and times are as follows. Level 1 Course Dates And Times:

• 1. November 30 – December 3, 2017;

• 2. December 7 – 10, 2017,

• 3. December 14 – 17, 2017,

• 4. January 11 – 14, 2018,

• 5. February 8 – 11, 2018,

• 6. March 1 – 4, 2018.

• Note: All courses fill up, so register early. Note: Indoor classes are held Thursday, and Friday, from 6:00-10:00 p.m. in Boulder. Field days, which are either in Rocky Mountain National Park or Roosevelt National Forest, are Saturday, and Sunday, from 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Rate: $455 per participant. Level 2 Dates and Times:

• 1. January 25th – 28th, 2018

• 2. March 16th – 19th, 2018.

• Times: 8 am – 6 pm. Rate: $510 per participant. Please note: Refer a friend who registers and receive a $25 credit for each referral for the course.

Avalanche Rescue Course Dates And Times: (Friday)

• 1. December 8, 2017,

• 2. December 15, 2017,

• 3. January 12, 2018,

• 4. February 9, 2018, and

• 5. March 9, 2018.

• Times: 8 am – 4 pm. Rate: $200 per participant. Please note: Refer a friend who registers and receive a $25 credit for each referral for the course.
