Hidden Valley, the former ski area lodged deep in the park has riding from the top of Trail Ridge Road above 12,000-feet to the bottom, as well as mellower low-angle terrain for those just getting their start in touring and backcountry skiing. On the other side, above Bear Lake, the Banana Bowls offer high-flying riding near Hallett Peak and Flattop Mountain.   Indian Peaks Wilderness Area Set only an hour west of Boulder, the Indian Peaks are a wonderland of climbs and descents that is so close, yet feels a world removed from the city.
