Our Colorado River Guide Training program is a two-week intensive course that provides an opportunity for river rafting enthusiasts and aspiring whitewater professionals to develop essential decision-making skills on rivers of varying difficulty and character.
Upon completion of this course, you will have completed all requirements for the Colorado Raft Guide certification but you will still need to do a 1-day client trip to officially complete!

Trip Details
2023 Program Dates: May 15-19 (Monday-Friday) & May 22-26 (Monday-Friday)
Requirements:
- 18 or over
- Reasonably fit
- Adequate dexterity and range of motion
- Strong swimmer
Provided: (temporary) PFD, paddle, helmet, splash jacket, raft, ropes, etc., campsite
Not provided: wetsuit, drysuit, warm-layer clothing, footwear, food, camp gear
Expect and prepare for program environment / conditions, which include:
- Up to 10 days outdoors in mid-May on rivers in northern Colorado, including sections of the Colorado River near Kremmling.
- Long and sometimes cold days.
- May averages: 64° High / 31° Low. Five days of rainfall.
- Weather fluctuation: sun, rain, snow, wind, etc.
- Swimming in swift-moving current (up to Class III rapids) and cold river water.
- Walking along rocky and slippery shorelines.
- Carrying boats and gear.
