Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides is proud to partner with the Adventure Film Festival and the American Alpine Club for an exclusive day of Rock Climbing on Sunday October 7, 2018, in Boulder, Colorado. Under the tutelage of our experienced rock guides, climbers will head up Boulder Canyon, one of the meccas of world rock climbing, to experience climbing for the first time, or refresh previous skills and re-ignite a passion for the sport. No experience is required to participate and all ages are welcome! Climbers will be required to sign a waiver prior to participating in the event.

Climbers will meet in front of the Boulder Theater for check-in at 9:00 am on Sunday. We will then drive approximately 15 minutes to the climbing area. You’ll get to climb for 3 hours on a series of walls aimed at different abilities, from easy beginner ascents to intermediate climbs that will test strength and fortitude.

The event cost is only $10 but you must pre-register by phone and pay the $10 fee at that time. You will be charged a $50.00 cancellation fee if you cancel.

Rock Climbing Clinic with Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides 

Transform your life through the vertical frontier of rock climbing. Professional climbing guides at Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides (CWRAG) will be partnering with the Adventure Film Festival to offer an introductory outdoor climbing clinic in Boulder. Participants will have the opportunity to venture onto some of the vertical terrain that has made Boulder a climbing mecca. CWRAG professional rock guides will provide routes ranging from 5.6-5.9 in difficulty and instruction in climbing technique, introductory rope skills, and belaying. Transportation to/from the Boulder Theater, and climbing gear (harness, shoes, and helmet) are included with registration. Participants are also welcome to bring their own gear. Participants are encouraged to bring a cash tip for guides although some gratuity is already covered with event cost.

Event Date: Sunday October 7th, 2018

Event Times:

9:00 am – Check-in at Boulder Theater

9:15 am – Gear Distribution and Checks (shoes, harnesses, and helmets).

9:30 am – Depart from Boulder Theater to climbing area in CWRAG Vans.

9:45 am – 12:15 pm – Climbing Clinic.

12:30 pm – Return to Boulder Theater.

Cost: $10 per person (If you cancel, you will be changed an additional $50 cancellation fee).

What is included: Rock Climbing clinic, transportation between the Boulder Theater and the Boulder climbing site, rock climbing equipment rental (harness, helmet, and shoes), professional climbing guides, and guide gratuity.

Note:  $10 fee goes directly to the guide gratuity for the clinic.

What is not included: Water and snacks, and parking cost for meeting at the Boulder Theater / AFF.

Adventure Film Festival:

In a tent during a storm, on a handful of scratch paper, Jonny sketched out his vision of a community-based, mission-oriented, outdoor adventure festival that tied indie film with art and activism.
