Colorado Wilderness Transportation has been operating in Colorado since 2009. Previously, Colorado Wilderness Transportation was also known as Colorado Wilderness Rides And Guides.

In Colorado, transportation companies have to get authority from the Colorado Public Utilities Commission, rather than the US Department of Transportation to operate. Colorado Wilderness Transportation (Boulder Wilderness Shuttle LLC) has authority for charter, limousine, scheduled, and sightseeing service – PUC # 55777.

We have a unique set of skills in understanding the local mountains and outdoor areas (National Parks, Colorado State Parks, Open Spaces, Bureau of Land Management, National Forests, river systems, and outdoor venues for wedding/concerts/events). We are experts in terms of safety, route selection, assessing weather conditions, and possessing permits to operate through multiple land managers. Thus, we have become an authority on traveling in and around the mountains around Colorado. This understanding, along with professional staff allows us to provide services no other transportation company in the state can provide.

All staff are professional drivers and provide great customer service. For sightseeing and education tours, our staff has undergone special training in the natural and human history of Colorado and the US. They have spent a tremendous amount of time in the Colorado Outdoors by foot, bike, boat, on rock or snow. All of our educators work as professional guides as well in fly fishing, climbing, backcountry skiing, rafting, cycling, and more.

We have the ability to provide unique services such as custom cycle transportation vehicles or arranging charter air service and seamless ground transfers.

Although we have the ability to provide service for individual guests, we excel at transporting and providing services for groups (10 – 500+) and with working with organizations associated with the outdoors. We have provided services for the US Pro Cycling Challenge, USA Climbing, Fortune 500 companies (Google, Oracle, Exxon Mobile, GE, and more). We work with many government and education institutions for providing education or unique transportation services including the Department of Defense, US Army, US Air force, University of Colorado, National Renewable Energy Labs – NREL, and National Center of Atmospheric Research - NCAR.
